Total industrial producer prices (domestic market and foreign market) in Romania fell in September 2024 by 1.7% year-on-year, according to data published on Monday by the National Institute of Statistics (INS).
A decrease was also recorded on a monthly basis of 1.8%.
By major industrial groups, prices in the capital goods industry increased by 6.11% in September 2024 from September 2023, those in the consumer goods industry rose by 3.93%, and prices in the durable goods industry increased by 1.51%. Prices in the energy industry fell by 9.7%, and by 0.11% in the intermediate goods industry.
On a monthly basis, slight increases in the prices of industrial production in total (domestic and foreign markets) were recorded in September 2024 in the consumer goods industry (0.45%) and in the capital goods industry (0.06%), while in the intermediate goods industry they levelled out. Decreases were reported in the energy industry (- 5.48%) and in the durable goods industry (- 0.28%).
In September 2024 as against September 2023, the industrial producer price index (domestic market and foreign market) increased significantly in water supply, sanitation, waste management, decontamination, by 13.38%, and slightly in the manufacturing industry, by 0.47%. Decreases were reported in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning production and supply, by 7.2%, and in mining and quarrying, by 2.86%.
In September as against August 2024, the industrial producer price index (domestic and foreign market) increased in mining and quarrying by 2.74%, and in water supply, sanitation, waste management, decontamination by 0.58%. Decreases were recorded in the production and electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning production and supply, by 5.64%, and in the manufacturing industry - by 0.41%.
