The Minister of Energy, Bogdan Ivan, had discussions with his German counterpart, Katherina Reiche, and with Levin Holle, State Counselor within the Federal Chancellery, following which clear directions were established for a strategic Romania-Germany partnership in the field of energy.
"Romanian energy must work for Romania's economy! I had practical discussions with my German counterpart, Katherina Reiche, Federal Minister of Economics and Energy, and with Dr. Levin Holle, State Counselor in the Federal Chancellery responsible for economic and financial policy, together with representatives of the largest companies in Germany. Together we established clear directions for a strategic Romania-Germany partnership in the field of energy, from natural gas and nuclear energy, to solar and wind energy," the minister wrote on his Facebook page on Wednesday.
He stressed that the ministry's objectives are to increase the production and storage capacity of electricity, to use the gas and energy produced in Romania to develop the petrochemical industry and other industrial branches with added value, and to transform "our resources into jobs and prosperity for Romanians."
