Minister of Justice Tudorel Toader met in Brussels with President of Eurojust Ladislav Hamran, with the two officials agreeing on the need of an even tighter cooperation between the Ministry of Justice and the European agency during the first semester of 2019, when Romania will be holding the rotating Presidency of the Council of the EU.
On the occasion of his participation in the Council of Justice and Home Affairs, Tudorel Toader had a meeting on Thursday with a delegation from Eurojust, led by Ladislav Hamran. Toader was accompanied by a technical team from the Ministry of Justice and Romania's Permanent Representative Office to the European Union, reads a release of the Ministry of Justice (MJ).
"During the meeting they discussed aspects related to the role played by Eurojust against serious forms of transnational criminality, the good cooperation between the Romanian judicial authorities and Eurojust and the activity of the Romanian office at Eurojust. In the context of Romania taking over the Presidency of the Council of the EU, the Romanian Minister of Justice and the President of Eurojust presented the activities to be carried out jointly during the Presidency," shows the same release.
The Eurojust representatives underscored the implications of the new budget proposals considered by the European Commission for the future Multiannual Financial framework on the activity of this agency of the EU, informs the abovementioned release.
