King Felipe VI of Spain and President Nicusor Dan arrived at the Joint Training Centre in Cincu on Tuesday.

The two officials will visit the 'Getica' Joint Training Centre and will deliver brief statements. On this occasion, King Felipe VI and President Nicusor Dan will also hold a meeting.

Romania's National Defence Minister Angel Tilvar and Foreign Affairs Minister Emil Hurezeanu are also participating in the visit to the Getica Joint Training Centre.

King Felipe VI last visited Romania in July 2009, as Prince of Asturias, accompanied by his wife, the current Queen Letizia.

The 'Getica' National Joint Training Centre in Cincu is a military structure under the Romanian Land Forces General Staff, located in Cincu commune, Brasov County. The centre facilitates training for military units up to brigade level, as well as for personnel participating in individual missions abroad.

In the context of Russia's invasion of Ukraine (2022), a NATO Multinational Battle Group (Battle Group Forward Presence - BGFP), later renamed the Collective Defence Battle Group (CDBG), was established at Cincu, with France as framework nation.

The centre regularly hosts NATO exercises, such as STEADFAST DART 25 (with Romanian, French and Spanish troops) and SARMIS 25.1 (involving the 2nd Mountain Troops Brigade 'Sarmizegetusa').
