In the opening of Monday's plenary sitting, the deputies followed the invitation of Chamber of Deputies' interim Speaker Alfred Simonis and observed a moment of silence in memory of the victims of the terrorist attack against the State of Israel.
In their turn, the senators held a moment of silence in memory of the victims of the Holocaust, at the request of Liberal floor leader Daniel Fenechiu, agerpres reports.
"Today, by dint of Government Decision No. 672/2004, is Holocaust Day and I would invite you to observe a moment of silence for the victims of the Holocaust in Romania and everywhere," Fenechiu said at the start of the Senate plenary sitting.
