The Longshield Investment Group changed its trading symbol at the Bucharest Stock Exchange from SIF4 to LONG, thus completing the rebranding process of financial investment company SIF Muntenia (SIF 4) into Longshield Investment Group, the representatives announced on Wednesday Bucharest Stock Exchange.

"Longshield Investment Group's shares are traded on the regulated market of the Bucharest Stock Exchange since November 1999. The history of SIF Muntenia, Longshield Investment Group, unfolded together with the history of the Bucharest Stock Exchange. I could say that we grew together. Looking back at the level of trading that the company had, we noted 4.7 billion traded shares, with a total value of over 4 billion RON, since the listing on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, as SIF 4 was one of the most liquid issuers on the stock exchange. However, beyond the figures, the most important thing related to what we are celebrating today, the rebranding of SIF Muntenia, is the transformation that the company is going through along with the transformation that the entire Romanian capital market is going through," Radu Hanga, the president the Board of Directors of the Bucharest Stock Exchange, said on the occasion of the official launch of the new trading symbol of Longshield Investment Group.

He emphasised that the SIFs were born at the initiative of the Romanian state and were part of the process by which some of the state-owned companies became private ownership.

"As a result of the introduction to trading on the stock exchange, the start of a process in which new shareholders entered, the shareholding structure of the SIFs changed over time, significantly. We went through a process in which the shareholders took over more and more control over their property," added Radu Hanga.

According to him, the first change took place in 2021, when SIF Moldova became Evergent Investments, followed by SIF Transilvania which became Transilvania Investments. SIF Banat Crisana became Lion Capital, and SIF Oltenia became Infinity Capital.

Longshield Investment Group's shares are traded on the regulated market of the Bucharest Stock Exchange since November 1, 1999, the company being among the first issuers of the local stock exchange.

At the end of the trading session on Wednesday, October 16, the last trading day of the company's shares under the old symbol, the capitalisation of Longshield Investment Group was 1.36 billion RON, a value 65 times higher than the initial capitalisation on the stock exchange, on November 1, 1999, so that the price yield of the LONG share was 6.455%. Taking into account the dividends distributed by the company during all these years, the investment made in the company's shares brought a yield of 10.072% from the listing until now. The company's shares are included in the BET-XT, BET-XT-TR, BET-XT-TRN, BET-BK and BET-FI indices.
