A magnitude 4 earthquake occurred on Monday morning at 4:42 a.m. in the Vrancea seismic zone, Buzau County, according to data published by the National Institute for Earth Physics Research and Development (INCDFP).

The earthquake occurred at a depth of 125.3 kilometers, near the following cities: 51 km west of Focsani, 51 km northwest of Buzau, 68 km southeast of Sfantu-Gheorghe, 74 km east of Brasov, and 81 km northeast of Ploiesti.

In June, there were 11 earthquakes in Romania, with magnitudes ranging from 2.2 to 4.

The largest earthquakes this year, both 4.4 on the Richter scale, occurred on February 13 in Buzau County and on May 11 in Vrancea County.
