National Liberal Party (PNL) First Vice-President, MEP Rares Bogdan declared, on Monday, that at this moment the liberals' strategy is "by ourselves", noting that the party is "closing the ranks of the Romanian Right" and is waiting for all those who "feel liberal", from Save Romania Union (USR), Forta Dreptei/Force of the Right, REPER, People's Movement Party (PMP), to join the liberal project in the next period.
"Today we discussed the status of sociological research at the level of our organizations in the territory. We currently have no less than 42 sociological researches that are at the level of data collection. The sociological researches from almost all the counties of Romania, but also from sectors in Bucharest or the municipalities that are the seat of the county will be presented on October 27-28. Also, the chairman of the party presented a strategy for the next period on how the National Liberal Party must defend its achievements from the almost four years of government and talk about them, but also a sociological study commissioned by the National Liberal Party, which places the PNL at 21-22%. Basically, we have three surveys, plus one that includes them, which shows very clearly that at this moment the National Liberal Party is stabilized at over 20%, which gives us hope for next year," Bogdan said after the party leadership meetings, agerpres reports.
Rares Bogdan also said: "From my point of view, the National Liberal Party must take and continue to take the reins into its own hands, it has the necessary capacity."
"We have the possibility to govern both with the Left and with the Right. This is the advantage of the National Liberal Party, but never with the extremists. So we exclude from the start the government with the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR), instead we do not exclude the government with any democratic political force, but we hope that the PNL be the party that gives the prime minister, that has the presidential candidate that wins the Presidency of Romania and also be the party that wins the European Parliament's elections and at least regains its fiefdoms where it is currently present," Bogdan explained.
