Ministry of Family launches anti-drug campaign among institutionalised youth
The Ministry of Family, Youth and Equal Opportunities has launched anti-drug campaigns among institutionalised young people in every county of the country, announced Minister Natalia Intotero.
Natalia Intotero said on Monday at the Mental Health Gala that more than 20,000 young people participated in the ministry's anti-drug initiatives on the occasion of World Education Day.
"With the support of student cultural houses across the country, we had over 20,000 young people participating in these prevention campaigns and the cultural houses each organised these events, according to the specific region," said Natalia Intotero.
She also mentioned that personal development weekends have been organised for more than 5,000 young people who are institutionalised and have lost their parents, as well as children with parents who have gone abroad.
"We will present the application that we want to make available to all minors, young people, adults (...). Through this app, we want to raise awareness equally among parents, grandparents (...). This application will have information provided by specialised institutions, the ANA [National Anti-Drug Agency], the Ministry of the Interior and the National Cyber Security Directorate (...). After we launch this application (...) we will also start a nationwide campaign; we try (...) to be present in every county of the country and to meet as many parents, grandparents, young people as possible," added Natalia Intotero.
