Miriam Bulgaru elated to have been selected to BJKC national team, promises to fight for Romania

Tennis player Miriam Bulgaru (WTA's 212nd) told a press conference on Friday that she is very excited about being selected for the first time to the national team, and that she is ready to fight for Romania in the qualifiers of the Billie Jean King Cup Finals.

"I am super happy that I can finally be part of the Billie Jean King Cup national team. I can't wait to play. I'm elated by the fact that the moment has come for me to play my first official match for the national team. I will give it all on the court, I will fight for Romania. A special energy was created by the fact that we won here, in Bucharest. I am convinced that it will give us a boost in our careers and lots of experience," Bulgaru said.

The Romanian women's national team consisting of Anca Todoni, Miriam Bulgaru, Georgia Craciun, Ilinca Amariei and Mara Gae will play in Group A of the Billie Jean King Cup Qualifiers hosted by Tokyo between April 11-13; Romania will encounter Canada on April 11 and Japan on April 12.
