Moldovan citizen wanted for attempted kindapping in Slovakia caught by Romanian border police

Police officers from the Albita border crossing point have located and detained a man from the Republic of Moldova, wanted by the authorities, who is being investigated for attempted kidnapping of a minor, on the territory of Slovakia.

"A 36-year-old Moldovan citizen, who was a passenger on a bus, presented himself at the Albita border crossing point to complete the control formalities in order to leave the country. At the border control, our colleagues found that an alert had been issued against the man for the implementation of an arrest and surrender or extradition warrant issued by the authorities in Slovakia, as he is currently under investigation for the crime of attempted kidnapping of a minor on the territory of this state," representatives of the Iasi Border Police Territorial Inspectorate reported.

The man was handed over to an operative team from the Criminal Investigation Service of the Vaslui County Police Inspectorate for further legal measures to be taken.
