Museum institutions in Brasov County, whether public or private, announce their participation in this year's edition of the Night of Museums event, on May 17, after many of the state-owned ones refused last year to participate in this program in protest against the unresolved salary demands of employees in the field.

Bran Castle will join this year "the socio-cultural initiative, offered by the European project "Night of Museums", to promote historical heritage and free access to culture".

"Between 19:00 and 23:00 (last entry), the gates of Bran Castle open to offer free access to visitors who will have a nocturnal excursion through history, legends and myths. (...) Not all evenings at Bran Castle are the same, and this one [Saturday] promises to be a magical one, in which the atmosphere will be completed by a Cafe Concert full of refinement, in the Queen Maria Music Hall," reads a release released on Tuesday by the administration of the private museum institution.

The Brasov Art Museum announced, through a press release, its participation in the 2025 Museum Night event.

"In the context of the future of museums and their role for the community, the Brasov Art Museum proposes a lively dialogue between the permanent collection and contemporary art, between classical techniques - such as oil on canvas - and modern expressions such as photography, watercolor or engraving. The artistic wealth of the museum is complemented by the relationship created between works and visitors, in a lively space open to dialogue", the museum's management announced.

Visitors will be able to see, free of charge, four temporary exhibitions and the main one - the Romanian Art Gallery - "an incursion into the Romanian artistic heritage, bringing together works signed by great masters of Romanian and Brasov art".

The director of the Brasov County History Museum, Nicolae Pepene, recently announced that the institution he leads is returning to the habit of hosting the event this year, noting that, for the first time this year, the Olimpia Mountain Sports and Tourism Museum will also open its doors on Saturday evening.

The Casa Muresenilor Museum will also respect the tradition and will await visitors on May 17, both at the main headquarters and at the Stefan Baciu Memorial House, with their permanent and temporary exhibitions, as well as a surprise - a "colorful musical animation"

In turn, the "Valer Literat" Fagaras County Museum will be open to the public on Saturday evening, from 6:00 pm to 12:00pm, with the last entry allowed at 11:00 pm.
