The national production of cars reached, in the first 11 months of the year, 379,952 units, down 6.12% compared to the same period in 2020, when the number of units produced was 404,699, show the data published by the Romanian Automobile Makers Association (ACAROM), agerpres reports.
According to the quoted source, from January to the end of November 2021, the volume of car production amounted to 379,952 units, of which 233,984 Dacia and 145,968 Ford units.
Statistics from the Driving Permits and Vehicle Registration Regime Directorate (DRPCIV), published last week, show that car registrations in Romania decreased by 10.8% in November of this year, compared to the same period in 2020, a margin in that electric cars recorded a doubling of registrations, and Dacia Spring, the first "green" model of the car maker in Mioveni, became the leader in this segment.
On the national market, the ranking by brands (for cars + commercial vehicles), after 11 months in 2021, is led by Dacia (33,250 units), followed by Ford (10,714), Renault (8,879), Toyota (8,863), Hyundai (8,442), Volkswagen (8,427), Skoda (7,340), Mercedes Benz (6,474), Suzuki (4,171) and Peugeot (3,586).
At the same time, cars (representing approximately 82% of the total) registered a volume of 11,358 units in November 2021, 13.6% down from the similar month of 2020. However, on the whole of the 11 months in 2021, there is an overall decrease of 1% compared to the same period last year.
