President Nicusor Dan declared on Thursday that the closure of the Romanian Consulate in Saint Petersburg represented a reciprocal measure from the Russian Federation and that there will be no response from Romania, according to Agerpres.
"Immediately after the drone incident in Galati, with the two Romanian citizens who were injured, we closed the Russian Consulate in Constanta and expelled the consul, which was, in my opinion, a proportionate measure by Romania in relation to the incident we had. Obviously, diplomatically, these things, this reciprocity of measures always happens. There is no other justification from Russia for this. There will be no response from Romania," Nicusor Dan stated during a press conference held in Gdansk.
