The city of Oradea was represented, from November 29 to December 1, at the largest tourism fair in Poland - Tour and Travel Warsaw, Visit Oradea informed in a press release on Monday.
According to the source, Romania, as an official partner of the 30th edition, benefited from a stand strategically located at the main entrance of the fair, an initiative carried out with the support of the Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism.
The 215-square-meter stand hosted 21 co-exhibitors, including local organizations, public authorities and tour-operators, with the aim of promoting a complete and authentic image of Romania. The official opening ceremony was attended by the Romanian Ambassador to the Republic of Poland, Cosmin Onisii.
One of the key attractions presented to visitors was the direct flights between Oradea and Warsaw, introduced in June this year. This connection facilitates the access of Polish tourists to Oradea and positions the city as a top destination for city breaks.
"It is an honor for us to be present at the Romanian stand, especially now, when Oradea and Warsaw are closer than ever. Starting this year, we have direct flights between Oradea and Warsaw, operated four times a week, which makes it even easier for Polish tourists to discover the beauties of the city," said Renata Usvat, marketing specialist at Visit Oradea, on the main stage of the fair.
The Romanian stand was enlivened by the Folk Ensemble "Bihorul", which offered authentic artistic moments throughout the fair, very much appreciated by the visitors. President Hotels & Resort Baile Felix was also present at the stand, promoting Baile Felix as a SPA and recreation center. Attendees were invited to discover the resort's modern facilities and the benefits of the thermal waters in this area, highlighting Baile Felix as a perfect complementary destination for Oradea.
Romania's National Day, December 1, was celebrated with a special moment on the main stage, with the Romanian State Anthem being sung by the entire Romanian delegation at the Romanian stand and Romanian dishes being tasted by the fair visitors.
At the same time, the Ministry of Economy, Entrepreneurship and Tourism, also on the occasion of Romania's National Day, displayed on all digital billboards of the outdoor campaign in Poland, the festive message "Happy Anniversary, Romania!". The campaign, launched on November 16 and active until December 15, 2024, promotes Romania as a tourist destination through attractive images and messages designed to boost visibility, as well as the interest of Polish tourists.
Throughout the fair, a TVR International production team recorded the key moments from Romania's stand in order to broadcast them in a video on December 22, 2024.
"By participating in this complex and prestigious event, Visit Oradea reaffirms its commitment to promoting Oradea as a first-class tourist destination, thus supporting the development of local tourism and attracting international tourists," the press release further specifies.
