No less than eight Romanian tennis players qualified on Wednesday for the round of 16 of the Raiffeisen Bank ITF Pro Circuit tournament, endowed with total prizes of 15,000 dollars and organided by the Bucharest Tennis Club.
They join Sebastian Gima (seeded number 6), Bogdan Pavel (7) and Dragos Nicolae Cazacu, who secured their qualification for the second round on Tuesday.
Nicholas David Ionel (1), Stefan Adrian Andreescu, Dan Alexandru Tomescu (3), Mihai Razvan Marinescu, Cezar Gabriel Papoe, Stefan Palosi (5), Ioan Alexandru Chirita and Rares Teodor Pieleanu all won on Wednesday, so there will be three Romanian duels in the round of 16: Ionel - Andreescu, Tomescu - Marinescu and Gima - Cazacu.
