Parliamentary election 2024/AEP: 164,000 people voted until Sunday, 3.00 am

More than 164,000 voters went to the polling stations in the diaspora, until Sunday at 3.00 am, to vote in the parliamentary elections, according to data provided in real time by the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP).

According to the AEP, since the opening of the polls, 164,859 Romanian citizens have gone to vote.

Also, 4,343 voters voted by correspondence, the total number of votes cast abroad currently being over 169,202.

Most Romanian voters voted in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland - 31,571; Italy - 25,047; Germany - 24,550; Spain - 20,794, and the Republic of Moldova - 14,687.

Also, 7,800 voters voted in France, 7,214 in Belgium, 5,557 in Austria, 4,872 in the Netherlands, 2,913 in the USA, 2,797 in Ireland, 2,547 in Canada, 2,545 in Denmark, 2,392 in Switzerland, and 1,281 in Sweden.

Voting is not possible abroad with a mobile ballot box.

Voting in the diaspora in the parliamentary elections takes place over two days, Saturday and Sunday.
