Prime Minister Ludovic Orban said on Monday that the resignation of the manager of the Piatra-Neamt County Emergency Hospital, Lucian Micu, is not enough, pointing out that the investigation into the fire at the ICU unit of this hospital must identify those responsible.
"There is a loss of ten lives. There is a criminal investigation. I have ordered all structures of government subordination to support the investigation with professionalism and speed, so that those responsible are identified. There is a huge responsibility and those who are guilty must be punished. (...) A resignation is not enough, how can a resignation be enough?" said Orban, after a working visit, together with the general mayor of Bucharest, Nicusor Dan, and with the prefect of the Capital City, Traian Berbeceanu, for the assessment of the hospitals in Bucharest.
He pointed out that all the measures that are being taken are aimed at preventing a similar situation from ever happening again.
The manager of the Piatra-Neamt County Emergency Hospital (SJU), Lucian Micu, announced on Monday, in a press release, that he will resign from office, on Tuesday morning, "not before making sure that he does not leave things to chance, but that there will be a continuity without syncope."
