Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan met on Tuesday with a delegation of Wizz Air, with discussions focusing on expanding the network of destinations and ensuring high-quality services.
The delegation present at Victoria Palace of Government was led by Chief Executive Officer Jozsef Varadi and Dorottya Durucsko, Director for Government Relations and Sustainability. The meeting was also attended by the Head of the Prime Minister's Chancellery, Mihai Jurca, the Government said in a Facebook post on Tuesday.
"The meeting, held at the company's request, focused on developments in the aviation industry in Eastern Europe and Wizz Air's growth prospects in Romania. The Prime Minister stressed, and the parties agreed, on the importance of the airline meeting passengers' expectations, both by expanding its network of destinations and by providing high-quality services," the cited source said.
According to publicly available data, Wizz Air is one of the largest airlines in the region and the carrier most frequently used by Romanian citizens, as part of its expansion strategy in Eastern Europe, the post added.
