Prime Minister Marcel Ciolacu congratulated on Wednesday the head of the European Commission, Ursula Von der Leyen, and her entire team of commissioners for the approval of the mandates by the European Parliament.
"Congratulations to Ursula Von der Leyen and your team on the approval in the EP of the new Commission 2024 - 2029. Support for the Commission's mission to take forward a Union of freedom, democracy, prosperity, security", Marcel Ciolacu sent in a post on the Government's X account.
In this context, the prime minister also congratulated the Vice-President of the European Commission, Roxana Manzatu, and wished her success in her work.
The new European Commission led by Ursula von der Leyen was approved on Wednesday by the European Parliament, gathered in plenary session in Strasbourg.
The European Parliament supported Ursula von der Leyen's new team with 370 votes for, 282 against and 36 abstentions.
