Premier Viorica Dancila announced on Wednesday that there are 55 ongoing cases against Romania at risk of moving forward to infringement procedures.
"We'll look today at a note on the stage of the actions taken by the EC against Romania in finding failure to fulfill the obligations. There are currently 55 ongoing cases at risk of infringement," Dancila said at the beginning of the government meeting.
The PM said there will be a monthly assessment for the government to take the necessary measures.
"We will have such an assessment each month so that all the measures falling under the competence of the Government of Romania be pushed through within the shortest time. However, some of them must be handled by the Parliament of Romania," Dancila said.
The head of the government also mentioned her "extremely good meeting" on Tuesday with European Commissioner Corina Cretu.
"I insist that we expand the European dimension of our governing and that we try to make the most of the available opportunities," Dancila said.
