The police recorded, on Sunday, 435 notifications regarding possible contraventions or crimes related to the voting process, of which 126 were not confirmed, and 71 are under verification.
"The MAI (Ministry of Interior) employees applied 184 sanctions: 108 warnings and 76 fines worth approximately 145 thousand RON. They are also conducting investigations regarding 76 possible crimes," said the spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior (MAI), Monica Dajbog, on Monday.
Because they were not within the competence of the MAI structures, 11 notifications were sent for resolution to the Permanent Electoral Authority, the Central Electoral Bureau or the County Electoral Bureaus.
"The most complaints were recorded in the counties of Constanta - 32, Olt - 23, Arges - 22, Galati and Botosani with 20 each, Mehedinti and Prahova with 18 each. Another 18 complaints were recorded in the municipality of Bucharest. In the urban area, 255 complaints of possible electoral incidents were recorded, compared to 180 in the rural area," said Dajbog.
She specified that most of the reports referred to the continuation of the electoral propaganda - 139, photographing or filming the ballot - 45, selling or consuming alcoholic beverages near polling stations - 21, advising voters at the polling stations to vote or not to vote for a certain candidate - 20 and voting fraud - 27.
