According to the Presidential Administration, President Klaus Iohannis will plead for continued efforts by Member States to consolidate and deepen the Single Market in all its dimensions. The prsident will point out that "a strong digital market is essential to maintaining Europe's position as one of the world's most important economies."

Iohannis will also highlight the fact that the fight against disinformation is essential in the context of the forthcoming election to the European Parliament. In this respect, he will advocate the intensification of efforts by Member States to combat this phenomenon in order to ensure a free and fair European election process.

"The President of Romania will emphasize that the common objective is to avoid a disorderly withdrawal of the UK from the Union and our country, in its capacity of Presidency of the Council of the EU, will work to complete the preparations for any possible scenario related to the Brexit process. In this context, President Klaus Iohannis will reiterate the need to maintain the EU27 unity in this process," the Presidential Administration shows.
