Romania's President Klaus Iohannis on Saturday was welcomed by his Portuguese counterpart Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, Agerpres reports.
The official reception ceremony took place at the Jeronimos Monastery in Lisbon.
President Klaus Iohannis on Friday started a four-day visit to Porugal.
On Friday, he participated, as a special guest, in an anniversary meeting of the Arraiolos Group, which took place in Porto. The meeting marked the 20th anniversary of this informal platform for presidential consultations among 16 member states of the European Union.
Iohannis was scheduled for Monday to meet Portuguese Prime Minister Antonio Costa; President of the Portuguese Parliament Augusto Santos Silva, and Portuguese lawmakers. He was also expected to call on the Palace of the Lisbon Municipality to meet local mayor Carlos Moedas.
Part of the visit, bilateral documents will be signed in the areas of energy and investment and trade.
Iohannis' retinue includes Foreign Minister Luminita Odobescu and presidential advisors Daniela Barsan, Bogdan Aurescu, and Cosmin Marinescu.
