Film director and screenwriter Lia Bugnar, director Vlad Massaci, singers Alina Eremia and Andra and actress Ofelia Popii are some of the artists urging Romanians to express their right to vote on Sunday, during the presidential election rerun, informs Agerpres.
Bugnar believes that the election "will be a mirror in which we will find out exactly who we are as a people."
"The candidates came out before us, we saw each of them, with their good and bad sides. Now we choose. Choosing means the right to use one's mind, one's soul, one's own instincts. Yours and yours alone. The time has passed (I hope) when we were obliged to shout the same name in chorus. These elections will be a mirror in which we will find out exactly who we are as a people. A diagnosis. Without an honest diagnosis, you can't cure a disease. Calm down, don't throw any more hate around. It's a good day, because we will find out something important about ourselves. (...) There has been a lot of talk about 'useful voting'. Perfectly agree, every vote is useful. For a healthy society. I am going to use my vote and I hope that everyone will do the same. Let's hear each other well!" Bugnar wrote in a social media post.
Director Massaci said that he voted "for the future."
"I voted not for the past, but for the future. Which future does it rhyme with? I don't know how many young people I have in the bubble, but I asking specifically them to vote. In this election, it doesn't matter if you don't have a residence visa, you can vote anywhere if you are away from home," Massaci said.
Actor Mihai Calin chose, this time, instead of the well-known exhortation to get out to vote, to post only a proof of the fact that he voted in the first round of the presidential election rerun.
Actor Emanuel Parvu also urged Romanians to get out to vote, saying that it is "an important day."
Singer Dan Byron stressed the importance of elections at the polls "without ignorance, hatred and arrogance."
TV producer Catalin Maruta said that he voted and said that it is "essential for each of us to express our opinion."
"I think it is essential for each of us to express our opinion - calmly, respectfully and with the confidence that things can move in the right direction, when we get involved. Today I went to vote together with Andra and Eva - we wanted them to be with us and to see what this moment means. David had a football match, but I talked to him about it - at the next election he will also have the right to vote," Maruta wrote, while his wife Andra said that "voting does not mean perfection, but responsibility. It doesn't give us guarantees, but it gives us a voice - and that matters."
Singer Alina Eremia said in a social media post that we must "mobilise and get out to vote" and offered "a round of applause for those who go to vote."
Actress Ofelia Popii confessed that she will vote for the "best candidate".
