More than 740,000 voters showed up at the polling stations in the diaspora, until Sunday, 3:00 am (Romania time), to vote in the second round of the presidential elections, according to data provided in real time by the Permanent Electoral Authority (AEP).
According to the AEP, since the opening of the polls, namely from Thursday, 10:00 pm (Romania time), and until Sunday, 3:00 am, 740,028 Romanian citizens went to the polls, agerpres reports.
Also, 3,139 voters voted by correspondence, the total number of votes cast abroad currently being 743,167.
Most Romanians voted in the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland - 131,014, Italy - 117,067, Germany - 113,792, Spain - 85,826, the Republic of Moldova - 74,959, France - 36,599, Belgium - 28,084, the USA - 16,969 and Canada - 11,710.

Romanian citizens who are abroad on election day can vote in the 965 polling stations set up in the diaspora for this year's presidential elections, regardless of whether or not they have their domicile or residence outside the country.
According to the AEP, in the first round of the presidential elections, approximately 400,000 voters went to the polls in the diaspora from the opening of the polls until Sunday, 3:00 am (Romania time).
