The secretary general of the National Liberal Party, Dan Motreanu, said on Monday that the Social Democratic Party (PSD) has formalised its cooperation with Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) by announcing a motion of censure against the government led by Ilie Bolojan, adding that this alliance "confirms the constant falsehoods" of Social Democrat leader Sorin Grindeanu.
"PSD has formalised its cooperation with AUR by announcing a motion of censure against the government led by Ilie Bolojan. Sorin Grindeanu has repeatedly said he would not collaborate with AUR. Today's alliance confirms Grindeanu's constant falsehoods. At the same time, Ilie Bolojan has respected the governing programme, which was also endorsed by PSD in Parliament," Motreanu wrote on Facebook.
He underlined that "PNL has made it unequivocally clear that it will no longer form a coalition with PSD if this party votes a motion of censure against the government".
"If the PSD-AUR alliance has enough votes to bring down the government, then it is only natural that it should also assume responsibility for governing," Motreanu added.
Former deputy prime minister Marian Neacsu announced on Monday that PSD will initiate, together with AUR, a motion of censure against the government led by Ilie Bolojan.
