A total of 2,249 new cases of people infected with SARS-CoV-2 were registered between September 29 and October 5, down 40.6% compared to the previous week, the National Institute of Public Health reports on Tuesday.
As many as 637 of the new cases in the last week are in reinfected patients, tested positive more than 90 days after the first infection/another re-infection.
According to the INSP, 15 deaths were reported in people with COVID-19, all of whom had comorbidities. One death was reported more than a week after the date of registration.
During the same period, 442 RT-PCR tests and 11,659 rapid antigen tests were performed.
The positivity rate was 18.6%, down 6.3% from the previous week.
