The University of Bucharest ranks first at the national level, according to the QS World University Rankings by Subject, in six sub-fields of study, while the Bucharest University of Economic Studies maintains its position as the best higher education institution in Romania in the subfield of Economics and Econometrics, Agerpres reports.
The international QS World University Rankings by Subject analyzes the performance of universities based of indicators such as academic reputation, number of citations for published papers, reputation among employers, impact and quality of papers published by researchers and teachers (h-index), efficiency of inter-institutional collaborations (IRN). This year's top highlights the performance of 1,543 universities.
According to a press release issued on Wednesday, the University of Bucharest is the only one in Romania present in the subfields of Linguistics and Physics and Astronomy in the QS Ranking.
According to the ranking, made on fundamental fields based on the results from their related subdomains, the University of Bucharest is listed in three of the five fields analyzed: Arts and Humanities, Natural Sciences and Engineering and Technology.
Arts and humanities place the University of Bucharest first nationally and in the range of 451-500 worldwide, with an overall score of 59 points.
Within this fundamental field, the same ranking places the University of Bucharest first nationally in the subfields of Linguistics (between 201 and 250 worldwide) and Modern Languages (between 251 and 300 worldwide).
Also, the University of Bucharest ranks first in the country (among the 451-500 in the world) also in the field of Natural Science. The result is due to both the Chemistry and Physics and Astronomy subfields, which place the University of Bucharest first at the national level, and the Mathematics subfield, which places it second nationally.
Physics and Astronomy place the University of Bucharest between 551 and 600 positions in the world.
The University of Bucharest is also present in the world ranking in the Informatics and Computer Systems subfields, within the Engineering and Technology field.
The Bucharest University of Economic Studies maintains its position as the best university in Romania in the Economics and Econometrics subfield, according to QS World University Rankings by Subject 2022. In this subfield, ASE ranks 351-400th in the world.
According to the same ranking, ASE remains in the top 501 - 550 internationally and in second place in Romania in the Business and Management subfield.
