The sale of live pheasants, trout, game meat and non-timber products harvested from the forest fund brought the National Forestry Agency - Romsilva almost seven million euros by the end of November 2025, according to data provided by the administrator of forests under the state's public ownership.
"Part of Romsilva's income also comes from forestry-related activities, such as hunting, salmon farming and the valorization of non-timber products. This year, we managed to generate income of over 34 million lei in 11 months from the sale of game meat, from the sale of live pheasants and trout for consumption. We also sold 14% more berries than in 2024 and transferred 27% more mushroom harvesting rights than in 2024," the director general of the company, Jean Visan, recently announced in the activity conference.
Thus, 5.06 million lei was obtained from the sale of game meat, 969,550 lei from the sale of live pheasants, and the income from the sale of trout for consumption exceeded 9.24 million lei. In the area of non-wood products, Romsilva obtained 7.27 million lei from the sale of wild berries, up 14% compared to 2024, over 3.81 million lei from the sale of medicinal plants, and 4.41 million lei from the transfer of the right to harvest truffles. At the same time, income from the transfer of the right to harvest mushrooms reached 313,852 lei, 27% more than in 2024, confirming increased efficiency in this area.
The National Forestry Administration - Romsilva manages 241 hunting funds and administers 27 operating trout farms, as well as 3 pheasant farms, in Gherghita, Pischia and Ghimpati.
The total revenues of RNP-Romsilva for 2025 are estimated at 3.5 billion lei, and the turnover at approximately 3 billion lei, values similar to those provided for in the annual budget.
The National Forestry Administration - Romsilva administers 4.2 million hectares of forests, of which 3.13 million hectares are state-owned forests, about 48% of the country's forests, and for 1 million hectares of forests under other forms of ownership it provides forestry services. Romsilva also administers 22 national and natural parks, as well as 12 state stud farms.
All state-owned public forests have international standard forest management certification.
