Romania wins seven medals at Cadet European Judo Open in Ploiesti

Romania won seven medals: two gold, two silver and three bronze at the Cadet European Judo Open that took place on Saturday and Sunday in Olimpia Hall in Ploiesti.

Romania participated with no less than 121 judoka, of whom 71 boys and 50 girls, and also had 8 athletes ranking on the fifth position.

The gold medals were conquered by Andrei Pirloga (+73 kg category) and Eduard Serban (+90 kg), the silver medal by Adrian Sulca (+66kg) and Paula Gliga (+57 kg) while the bronze medals were secured by Silvia Gherman (+40 kg), Cosmina Danila (+70 kg) and Alexandru Roman (+90 kg).

The competition hosted 517 judoka from 27 countries, 355 in the boys' event and 182 in the girls' event.

In the medal standings, Hungary ranked first, with 5 gold medals and 4 bronze, followed by Romania, 2-2-3, Croatia, 2-0-2, the Republic of Moldova, 2-0-1, etc.
