The director of the Romanian Cultural Institute (ICR) in New York, Dorian Branea, will participate in the FRAME Festival, organized between June 19 and 29 by the Faculty of Theatre and Film (FTF) of Babes-Bolyai University (UBB).
"Dorian Branea, the director of the Romanian Cultural Institute in New York, comes into dialogue with FTF master's students to explore how theatre and film can become 'soft power' instruments in cultural diplomacy. We will analyze promotion strategies, case studies of Romanian impactful productions in the USA and how young creators can build lasting relationships on the international stage," FTF announced in a Facebook post.
The event, with exclusive access for UBB students, will take place on Saturday, June 21.
FRAME is the festival of the Faculty of Theatre and Film of Babes-Bolyai University in Cluj-Napoca, aiming to present the artistic and professional activities of students within various activities: from theatre performances and film screenings, to exhibitions, book launches or debates and professional meetings.
Participation in the events of the University Theatre and Film Festival - FRAME is free. For theatre performances, advance reservation of seats is required. Anyone can make a reservation by accessing the links indicated in the program.
The festival was launched in 2004 under the name Galactoria, with the aim of presenting the artistic graduation productions of the Acting and Directing major. Since then, the festival program has expanded, reflecting the diversification of the faculty's educational offer, but without losing sight of the founders' intentions.
To the same extent, the Gala CineMedia has developed, the annual platform for presenting the graduation audio-visual projects of the Cinematography, Photography and Media specializations.
Starting this year, with the theme "Performing Society", the festival is reinventing itself, offering the public, in a compact period, created contents that include the activities of undergraduate and master's students, Romanian and Hungarian languages, from all majors, as well as the faculty's teaching staff.
