The food safety testing laboratory of the National Sanitary, Veterinary and Food Safety Authority (ANSVSA) obtained official recognition from Indonesia's Quarantine Authority, which allows Romania to export fresh food products of plant origin, wheat in particular, to this emerging market, ANSVSA said in a release on Monday.
Through this recognition, the Bucharest Sanitary, Veterinary and Food Safety Laboratory is authorized to carry out official analyses to determine pesticide residues and other contaminants in fresh plant products intended for export to Indonesia.
Also, Romanian exporters can benefit from a valuable opportunity on the Indonesian market, one of the largest economies in Southeast Asia, provided that they strictly comply with the requirements regarding prior notification and the presentation of the Certificate of Analysis issued by the recognized laboratory.
ANSVSA representatives specify that this achievement consolidates the institution's position as a globally trusted partner for food safety, and paves the way for expanding the access of Romanian products to other Asian markets.
