The employees of the Romanian Post continue the protest joined on Thursday by 15,000 persons from over 1,000 postal subunits, General Secretary of the Postal Workers Union of Romania (SLPR) Ionel Otelea stated for agerpres.
"The protest isn't over. Almost 15,000 employees from over 1,000 postal subunits participated in the protest. It continues. It isn't managed by the union movement, and the protest is carried out in the way the employees want. The company made yesterday some offers. I understood they were rejected. I don't know how it will continue," Ionel Otelea stated.
Otelea mentioned that negotiations aren't currently carried out between the union and the company, but if they were to be invited the unionists will be attending.
The Romanian Post unionists ceased on Thursday their activity in several offices in Bucharest and all over the country after the negotiations with the company's representatives failed on Wednesday evening.
The Romanian Post, a national company founded in accordance with the Law no. 31/1990, not being a public institution is owned both by the Romanian state through the Ministry of Communications and Information Society (MCSI) in proportion of 75 percent and by the Fondul Proprietatea (FP) in proportion of 25 percent.

Over 19 million inhabitants benefit from the Romanian Post services and over 7.5 million addresses are covered by its own postal network.
The Romanian Post remains the company with the highest turnover of this branch, but also the largest employer in Romania with little over 25,000 employees.
