Romanian schools can enroll until October 14 in the competition for the best young translators in the European Union - "Juvenes Translatores", the Ministry of Education announced on Thursday.
"Until October 14, 2024, at 12:00 (13:00 Romanian time), schools in Romania can enroll in the translation competition dedicated to 17-year-old pupils from all member states of the European Union! 'Juvenes Translatores' is a annual contest in which pupils translate a page of literary creation on a current topic, from any of the 24 official languages of the EU, into any of the other 23 languages", the quoted source informs.
The translations are evaluated by professional translators from the EU institutions, and the winners will have the chance to participate in the award ceremony in Brussels, together with a teacher and a parent.
The number of schools invited to participate from each country coincides with the number of seats that country has in the European Parliament.
