The Romanian, Serbian, Bulgarian and Greek governments are going to create an initial organizing committee to submit their two joint candidacies for hosting the European Championship of 2028 and the World Cup of 2030, the Ministry of Youth and Sports announces in a release sent to AGERPRES.
The Minister of Youth and Sports, Bogdan Matei, on Monday went to Sofia, where he participated in the governmental meeting on this topic, alongside his counterparts from Bulgaria, Serbia and Greece. He was accompanied to Sofia by the President of the Romanian Football Federation, Razvan Burleanu, and by the honorary adviser to the PM, Gheorghe Popescu.
"At the meeting they drafted a Memorandum of Understanding between the Romanian, Serbian, Bulgarian, Greek governments to create an initial organizing committee to submit the two abovementioned joint candidacies.
