Romanian students have won three medals - one gold and two bronze - at the International Informatics Olympiad in Teams (IIOT) 2025, held in Budapest, Hungary, the Ministry of Education and Research said.
The gold medal was won by the "NP solutions only" team from Tudor Vianu National High School of Computer Science in Bucharest, accompanied by teacher Elena Dragan and coordinating teacher Victor Manz. Alexandru Andrei Benescu, 12th grade, Andrei-Patrick Calota, 12th grade, Rares Mihai Iordache, 12th grade, Andrei Paul Iorgulescu, 10th garde.
The bronze medal was obtained by the team "Herrscher_of_Backtracking", from Piatra-Neamt National High School of Computer Science, Neamt county, coordinating teacher Florentina Ungureanu. Cristian Luchian, 12th grade, Stefan-Claudel Neagu, 12th grade, David Visan, 12th grade, Andrei Besu-Roca, 11th grade.
The "Timotei Cipariu" team from the International Computer High School of Bucharest, coordinated by teacher Casian Patrascanu, also won a bronze medal. Mihai-Valeriu Voicu, 11th grade, Ema Nicole Gheorghe, 10th grade, Sebastian Ripa, 10th grade, Ionuţ-Gabriel Stan,12th grade.
The event brought together, alongside Romania, teams from more than 10 countries, including Bulgaria, Hungary, Italy, Syria, the United States of America, Iran, Israel, Saudi Arabia, Sweden and Vietnam.
