Romania's Badea wins gold medal at European Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships in Vilnius

Romanian swimmer Robert-Andrei Badea on Thursday won the gold medal in the men's 200m individual medley event at the European Aquatics Junior Swimming Championships in Vilnius, Lithuania, clocking in at 2:00.05, a new national record in the 17-, 18- and +19-years bracket.

In the same event, compatriot Darius-Stefan Coman ranked fifth (2:02.16).

In the men's 1,500m freestyle, Theodor Proca finished in fourth place (15:23.25).

Team Romania - Ana Maria Sibiseanu, Ioana Stirbu, Diana Stiger, Rebecca Diaconescu - ranked fifth in the final of the women's 4x200 m freestyle relay (8:08.78).

In the women's 100m butterfly, Denisa Bacalu finished eighth (1:00.20).

Romania has so far three medals, two gold, won by Vlad-Stefan Mihalache (men's 200m butterfly) and Robert-Andrei Badea (men's 200m individual medley), and one silver, won by Rebecca-Aimee Diaconescu (women's 200m freestyle).
