Citizens can submit proposals for the 2025 activities of Romania's Court of Accounts, the institution announced on Monday.

The court is inviting the public to submit audit proposals for its activity in 2025 and do so by November 18, 2024. They can submit suggestions and information that can be translated into audit missions included in the court's annual activities.

The information provided by the public will be centralised and analysed from the point of view of the existence of risks. Depending on the potential impact of the reported risks, the proposals will take the form of audit missions or specific objectives and will be included in the 2025 activities.

"The Court of Auditors encourages the active involvement of the public to secure a better use of their money. The involvement of the public and two-way communication with them will strengthen the court's strategic approach and increase the credibility of the institution's actions," according to the court.

The activities included in the official document of activities are approved by a plenary session of the Court of Auditors based on specific activity such as financial audit, performance audit and compliance audit missions, as well as documentation and follow-up missions. The court decides autonomously on its own activities and audit objectives, except for the requests from the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate, according to the law. The schedule of activities is posted on the institution's website.
