Romania's women's national team on Sunday was defeated by Germany 3-0 in the final of the European Team Table Tennis Championships in Zadar, Croatia.
Bernadette Szocs was defeated by Annett Kaufmann 3-2 (11-4, 10-12, 11-8, 6-11, 11-5) in the first match, then Elizabeta Samara lost 1-3 (5-11, 8-11, 11-8, 7-11) to Sabine Winter, and Andreea Dragoman was beaten by Nina Mittelham 3-1 (14-12, 11-8, 8-11, 11-5).
Romania lost the women's final at the European Team Championships for the third time in a row, after the 2023 (Malmo) and 2021 (Cluj-Napoca) editions, each time against Germany. Romania's last title dates back to 2019, in Nantes, when Romania beat Portugal in the final.
The medal tally of the Romanian women's table tennis team comprises five European titles, eight silver medals and three bronze medals.
