The USR (Save Romania Union) Congress on Saturday validated Dominic Fritz as party president, after he won the internal elections for the party's leadership a week ago.
The congress participants validated Fritz by using an online application, agerpres reports.
As acting president of the party, Dominic Fritz won the internal elections for the party's leadership, gathering 62% of the options (7,312 votes). 10,914 USR members voted, representing 57.15%.
The elections took place between June 11 and 13, with the president being elected by direct and secret ballot, on a secure electronic platform.
Former USR president Elena Lasconi resigned in early May.
