The Senate President, Liberal Mircea Abrudean believes that the responsibility for the economic and social consequences following the fall of the Bolojan Government lies "entirely" with those who voted for this motion.

"The fall of the Government is the result of a toxic alliance which endangers the economic stability. Unfortunately, Romanians are already paying the cost of this irresponsibility: the euro exchange rate passed historic thresholds and the instability can be seen directly in loans, prices and savings. Those who bring down a Government must come with solutions, not chaos. The responsibility for the economic and social consequences lies entirely with those who voted for this motion," Abrudean wrote on Tuesday on Facebook.

The motion of censure initiated by MPs from the Social Democratic Party (PSD), the Alliance for the Union of Romanians (AUR) and PACE - Intai Romania (PEACE - Romania First) against the Government led by Liberal Ilie Bolojan was adopted by Parliament on Tuesday.

A number of 281 votes were cast in favour, four against and three were annulled.
