Romania will be represented by six athletes to the Paralympic Games in Paris (August 28 - September 8), who will compete in three disciplines, judo for the disabled, para-cycling and para table tennis, the Romanian Paralympic Committee (CPR) announced on Tuesday.
"We are very excited! We are only a few days away from the Paralympic Games in Paris 2024, which will be held from August 28 to September 8! A lot of hard work, a lot of discipline and a lot of ambition describes the team that will represent Romania in the three sports: judo for the disabled, para cycling and para table tennis! We are proud of: Alexandru Florin Bologa & Daniel Vargoczki, athletes in para judo; Eduard Karoly Novak & Theodor Matican, athletes in para cycling; Camelia Ioana Roxana Ciripan & Bobi Simion, athletes in para table tennis," CPR representatives announced.
Romania has so far participated 7 times in the Paralympic Games, winning 6 medals, 4 of which were won by the former minister of Youth and Sport Eduard Novak. He has a gold medal and 3 silver medals in para cycling.
The other two medals won by Romania, both bronze, were won by judoka Alexandru Bologa, at the 2016 and 2021 editions.
