Chamber of Deputies Speaker Sorin Grindeanu congratulated on Monday Peter Magyar on his victory in the Hungarian elections, stressing that he expects joint projects to be strengthened and new ones developed, especially in the context of the Euro-Atlantic partnership.
"Hungarian people rely on Europe! This is one clear message sent to all by the victory of Péter Magyar. I look forward for strengthening our common projects & developing new ones as Romania and Hungary are solid partners for NATO and EU. Congratulations, Peter Magyar!," Grindeanu wrote on X.
Hungary's opposition Tisza party is on track to secure a comfortable two-thirds majority in the Budapest legislature. Prime Minister Viktor Orbán has conceded defeat and congratulated opposition leader Péter Magyar. Voter turnout was a record 77.8%.
