The Romanian tennis player Stefan Palosi qualified on Thursday in the round of 16 of the challenger tournament in Brasov (that will award the "Ion Tiriac" Trophy and total prizes of 74,825 euros), after defeating him the Italian Alexander Weis 6-7 (4/7), 6-4, 6-4.
Palosi (24 years old, no. 744 ATP), coming from the qualifications, won after almost three hours of play (2 h 54 min). The match started on Wednesday and ended at 3-3 in the decisive set, being continued on Thursday.
After the successful victory against Weis (27 years old, no. 299 ATP), Palosi secured 1,200 euros and 10 ATP points.
Palosi is the fourth Romanian qualified in the round of 16 in Brasov and will play against Kazakh Dmitri Popko (27 years old, no. 222 ATP).
