Romanian tennis player Irina Begu qualified for the quarterfinals of the WTA tournament in Hobart (Australia), equipped with total prizes worth 250,000 US dollars, on Wednesday, after defeating Russian Ana Blinkova, in three sets, 4-6, 7-6 (2), 6-2.
Begu (28, WTA's 76th) defeated her younger opponent (20 years old, WTA's 96th) in two hours and 37 minutes of playing, managing a spectacular return.
Irina Begu ensured a cheque worth 6,175 US dollars and 60 WTA points. The next opponent will be Anna Karolina Schmiedlova (Slovakia).
