The two people in the boat that ran aground on the Ukrainian side of the Chilia arm of the Danube reached the Romanian side almost nine hours after the incident was recorded, the Coast Guard announced Thursday evening.
The boat carrying the two tourists ran aground on the Ukrainian shore around 11:30 hrs and after confirming the incident near the village of Tatanir, belonging to Chilia Veche commune, the Coast Guard workers began discussions with their Ukrainian counterparts for the return of the two Romanian citizens, agerpres reports.
According to official data, the boat of the two passengers remained stranded on the Ukrainian bank of the Danube.
