A Romanian Air Force C-27J Spartan aircraft, configured for medical missions, took off on Friday morning from the 90th Airlift Base in Otopeni to carry out a humanitarian transport mission for three burn patients, on the route Otopeni - Craiova - Lubeck - Frankfurt (Germany).
According to a Ministry of National Defence statement, the mission is being carried out at the request of the Department for Emergency Situations and under existing mechanisms.
Medical assistance and equipment during the flight are provided by a team from the Bucharest Emergency Clinical Hospital Floreasca and specialists from the Romanian Air Force.
