The three-month ROBOR index, based on which the cost of variable-rate consumer loans in lei is calculated, fell on Friday to 5.78% per annum, from 5.79% per annum at the previous session, according to data published by the National Bank of Romania (BNR).
At the beginning of 2025, the ROBOR index stood at 5.92%, agerpres reports
The six-month index, used in calculating interest rates on variable-rate mortgage loans in lei, declined to 5.82% per annum, from 5.83% per annum on Thursday, while the 12-month ROBOR fell to 5.99% per annum, from 6%.
As regards the reference index for consumer loans (IRCC), regulated by Government Emergency Ordinance 19/2019, this stands at 5.68% per annum, being calculated as the arithmetic average of the daily interest rates of interbank transactions in the third quarter of 2025.
