Three-month ROBOR index falls to 6.55% per annum on Wednesday

The three-month ROBOR index, based on which the cost of consumer loans in lei with variable interest is calculated, fell on Wednesday to 6.55% per year, from 6.56% per year in the previous meeting, according to data published by the National Bank of Romania (BNR).

At the beginning of this year, the index was 5.92% per year.

The six-month index, used in calculating interest rates on variable-rate lei mortgages, fell to 6.69% per annum, from 6.71% per annum on Tuesday, and the 12-month ROBOR fell to 6.86%, from 6.88% per annum.

Regarding the reference index for consumer loans (IRCC), regulated by GEO 19/2019, it is 5.55% per year, calculated as the arithmetic average of the daily interest rates of interbank transactions in the first quarter of 2025, a level similar to that of the previous quarter.
